Chinese Food

Well..... Some one once said all my blog is, is a food review, so i figured while here I might as well do a small review of the interesting foods that I have come across. First we will start out with Mi Fan, this is simply rice, I have on average ten bowls of rice per day and you may not think that you can have good white rice and bad white rice that it is all the same but i disagree. One restaraunt that we consistently go to has very good rice and the other one that we go to does not have as good of rice. Second is the Tang Cu Li Ji, this is the first thing i learned how to say in CHinese because it was very important. This is Sweet and Sour Pork and the Sweet and SOur Pork in America does not even compare. It also ads such flavor to the rice. Also another favorite is Jiaozi, this is basically a dumpling. Xiang gu zhu rou jiaozi is a mushroom and pork dumpling and is amazing. This dumpling explodes in your mouth with sweet flavor. Some interesting things we have here are Hot and Dry Noodles, also Duck Neck, many other interesting foods and tastes but not enough time to describe them all. Sunday we visited the Yellow Crane Tower and that was really cool and very interesting to see. Yesterday we went to a Buddhist temple and a Daoist temple which also allowed us a look into their history and culture. Sorry there are no links, the internet is very confusing as it is in chinese. It was hard enough to navigate to blogger. For more detailed updates please visit www.calbaptist.edu/isp and click on the east asia link. Thanks for reading. Wikipedia describes jiaozi and also google the yellow crane tower. TTYL PTL for the internet and CHinese food.

Fracture & Asia

I'll start out by saying I am feeling more excited and nervous at the same time than I ever have felt. It is very different than what I am used to but the reason for this mix of feelings is as of Monday evening I will depart for East Asia and remain there for three weeks. This will be an experience of a lifetime, and I am looking forward to it very much. However there is a lot of work to be done in the next 48 hours before our sixteen hour flight as well as a lot of work that will be done during the three weeks while myself and my team are there. It will be a great time of learning and growing.
A few days ago I went with some friends to see the movie Fracture. It is a suspenseful thriller in which Anthony Hopkins is an accused murderer of his wife. Ryan Gosling is a District Attorney lawyer who is assigned this case and soon becomes a slave to it. I really enjoyed this thinking movie in which the twists and turns were well done and it left you wondering what would happen next. I would recommend this movie to most if you enjoy a slower suspenseful movie.
